Monterey Housing Programs

Our programs provide temporary housing for families transitioning from homelessness to independent living in the Monterey Bay Area.

The Salvation Army Monterey Peninsula Corps Housing Department offers two unique Housing programs for low-income families facing housing instability.

The Frederiksen House program is a 90-day shelter for families with children under the age of 18 that are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless.

The Casa de Las Palmas and Phase II programs offer transitional housing for up to 24 months for working families with children under the age of 18 that are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless.

Potential applicants must first complete a phone screening before being interviewed and placed on our waitlist. Applicants must be prepared to share information and documentation for the household regarding:

  • Homeless status
  • Employment status
  • Current household income
  • Child custody
  • History of substance abuse and recovery
  • Criminal background

For more information or to complete a phone screening, please contact our Housing Dept. staff member,
at (831) 899-1071 or email at housing.department@tsamonterey.com
